Teen Therapy in Clinton Township, MI

The teen years come with a lot of change—emotionally, socially, and mentally. It’s not always easy for teens to talk about what they’re going through, and it’s not always easy for parents to know how to help.

If your teen is struggling, therapy can provide a space where they feel supported, understood, and not judged—while learning how to better handle what life is throwing at them. At Next Chapter Therapy Services, we work with teens to build insight, confidence, and practical skills they can use in their everyday lives.

How We Help

Every teen is different, but many are navigating challenges that feel overwhelming or hard to manage on their own.

We support teens who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety, stress, or constant overthinking

  • Mood changes, irritability, or shutting down

  • Low self-esteem or lack of confidence

  • School stress, lack of motivation, or academic pressure

  • Social challenges or friendship struggles

  • Difficulty managing emotions

  • Life transitions, family stress, or changes at home

  • And more!

How Therapy Works for Teens

Therapy with teens should feel like a conversation—not a lecture.

We focus on building a genuine connection and creating a space where teens feel comfortable being themselves. Sessions are collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each teen’s needs.

We use evidence-based approaches such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) when appropriate

  • Skills-based strategies for emotional regulation

This helps teens:

  • Better understand their thoughts and emotions

  • Recognize patterns that keep them stuck

  • Learn how to respond differently in stressful situations

  • Feel more in control and confident

Parent Involvement Matters

More Than Just Talking

Teens often already know what they “should” do—but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to actually do it. In therapy, we focus on:
- Practicing skills in real-life situations
- Breaking down overwhelming experiences into manageable steps
- Building confidence through small, realistic progress
The goal is to help your teen feel more capable—not perfect.
Teens need space—but they also need support. We involve parents in a way that:
- Keeps you informed about progress
- Provides guidance on how to support your teen
- Respects your teen’s privacy and independence
This balance helps build trust while keeping everyone moving in the same direction.
